It’s up to you to change yourself

It’s up to you to change yourself

On this episode of God, Money & Purpose, Vivian and Raul discuss the topic of change. A person needs to be in pain in order to change. More specifically, a person needs to face his pain in order to change their habits. Once a person starts on that journey of self-improvement, the question becomes: what can the other person do? The person who has taken steps to change often has a fantasy that his partner will follow the example and magically level up as well. The reality is a little more complicated.

Podcast - The Daily Edge

You have to change yourself enough and be happy with yourself enough to inspire your partner to change, but not pressure them. It may take a long time, years, even, in order for your partner to face her own pain. But the way to make lasting change is to never focus on the outcome but enjoy the journey together.

Can We Ever Be Normal Again?

Can We Ever Be Normal Again?

In this episode we are discussing what the new normal is like as we see the light at the end of the tunnel for the COVID pandemic. Raul and Vivian have had less romance in their marriage in the past year, partly because of major health scares, and partly because they never leave each other. Not having time apart causes more pressure on a relationship, and for different reasons than you might expect.

Podcast - The Daily Edge

As businessmen and women, we show a different side of ourselves than the nurturing side that we have at home, and the romantic side behind closed doors. But due to COVID, we never really had a geographic separation that allowed us to mentally shift gears. So we had to shift our personalities in seconds from being the take-no-prisoners sales guru to being the nurturing parent, among other shifts. If even Bill and Melinda Gates can’t stay together, what chance do the rest of us have? Raul and Vivian will show you how to bring out the best in yourself and each other.
