Never Count Yourself Out

John Barriga was filled with uncertainty. COVID had ruined his business, it affected his marriage, and he didn’t know where to turn.

So he turned to me. He joined The Edge Program and changed everything

He started a new janitorial business and wasn’t afraid to suit up and get his hands dirty. From there, he started doing COVID testing and did hundreds of thousands of tests.

The lesson there is to never give up. There is always an opportunity in the storm, if you have the ability to see it.

Hard work and dedication pay off.

Just as importantly, having a community of men who will bring you up is what makes the difference between seeing the opportunity and being stuck in the chaos.

We were not designed to have mental stress and a sedentary lifestyle.

There are 3 responses to stress today: Deflect it, manage it, or use it. Deflecting stress means hiding from it. Pretending it’s not real and hoping it goes away. Managing stress means sedating yourself with drugs and alcohol. It means not feeling stress by numbing it. And using it means using stress as feedback for where you need to grow. Watch this video to learn how to use stress as feedback to grow.

What You Can Do To Save Your Marriage?

On this episode of God, Money & Purpose, Raul and Vivian Villacis discuss what their takeaway was from the interview that Oprah did with Prince Harry and Dutchess Meghan. As a quick refresher, Meghan, formerly an actress, is American and bi-racial, which caused a lot of conflict between Harry and the rest of the royal family. Harry, who had to grow up without his mother, Princess Diana, decided that the best way to protect his family was to cut ties with the royal family and live a relatively private life. The two had to essentially start their lives over, with each other for support.
Having control of your money is a form of emotional fitness.

Being able to make intelligent decisions with money, rather than be impulsive, or ignore purchases that “don’t count” means you have that emotional fitness.

When you have two people who mix their finances, it can quickly create tension if you aren’t on the same page about money, or don’t know where the money is going at the end of the month.
